As you’ve probably noticed, “healthy snacks” are everywhere nowadays. Many companies are trying to emulate the success of Terra Chips by diversifying beyond potatos and Veggie Crisps original offer tomato and spinach chips. Although they look pretty, well that’s about all they have going for them.
Veggie Crisps Original are actually made by Snyders of Hanover who make some absolutely delicious pretzels. Unfortunately the chips, which are part of the Eat Smart line, look pretty, have a decent crunch and aren’t greasy, and even have less sodium, taste like nothing.
The bag is made of a heavier material to give the chips more a premium feel, it also has a shiny green area on the front, fancy. When you open the bag, the interior is clean and the chips, which have a very nice color to them look great, similar to tricolored pasta lets say.
Even though the chips look different they all taste the same. They are reminiscent of a baked chip and all three taste very starchy and bland. Some chips are saved by copious amounts of salt, but these didn’t even have that going for them.
The ingredients don’t actually say tomato or spinach, but have both in “powder” form which makes us think they simple add seasoning and the chips aren’t actually made of these vegetables.
If you like eating something bland for the sake of being healthy, you may enjoy these, but we think there are better alternatives out there.

once again, my problem with these is that they are not made straight from the vegg.
they grind them up and make the chips out of powder.
this does not give a “healthy snack” the healthy feel you’re looking for.
we still like Terra more.
So are these chips baked or fried?? I can’t find this answer anywhere!!
